ABOUT THIS COLLECTION
Collaboration is in our DNA. We created a series of illustrations that merge everything we love. Each piece is made in handmade paper and finished with embroidery. They all tell a different fantasy; freedom, dreams, and a search for discovery are some of the themes explored by the artists.
We are inspired by touch and thread. We wanted to incorporate thread from the start so our handmade paper is made with strands of loose yarn. Materiality at its core is what we are about. THE STORY BEHIND IT É
This illustration tells a story that Carolina landed on while playing with some photos from her personal archive. A beautiful dead moth becomes alive in a collage where something unexpected that we donÕt totally understand is about to happen. Surrealism and dreams merge. The artist crafts stories left open to the imagination, so the viewer can add their own twist and ending.
Carolina Martinez is a Colombian artist and illustrator based in Chicago. She works on both digital media and painting. Her illustrations like to tell stories about the everyday with hints to imagined and surreal worlds.
